Hey everyone. This is Jessica and I hope your Wednesday is going well. Joshua came home from school on Monday and was only in the house all of 1.3 seconds when he was searching through his book bag ready to show me something exciting. He pulls out a purple piece of paper and at the top it reads "Willis Road Elementary School Talent Show". He said "Mom, I want to do this. I want to be in the school talent show." As he is telling me all about it, he is getting a pencil and beginning to fill out this form to sign himself up to sing at the school wide talent show.
Daniel and I were talking about it later that night and his response was "I think that is great that he wants to do this. When I was his age, never in a million years, would you have caught me signing up to do something in front of so many people." Ofcourse now he stands in front of people all the time preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. That got me thinking about the time when I was 7 and my family went to Disney World. My mom left me at the entrance to Space Mountain with a Disney World employee so she could ride on the ride with my brothers. (They would not ride without her and I would not ride at all - so she had to leave me with another adult to go with my brothers). Never in a million years would you have found me on a roller coaster when I was 7, let alone a roller coaster that was in the dark like Space Mountain. However, now, I will get on any roller coaster and have the time of my life.
In my life I have learned never to say never! God might have me doing something that I think I cant do in order to show me that He desires to use me for His glory. And, not only does He want to use me, but He gives me all I need to accomplish anything He wants me to do. I just need to stop being fearful, stop saying "never" and just be available.
So what is the thing that you have said "never in a million years to" and then now find yourself doing that very thing?
