If I died today, I'm honestly not sure what my legacy would be. Not that I want to die any time soon or anything, but have you ever wondered what people would say about you if you were gone? What would the friends, family, acquaintances, classmates, or co-workers you interact with have to say about you? Would they say you were a loving person? giving? thoughtful? Would they say that you loved the Lord and you invested in those around you? Or would people remember you for words that were hurtful or selfish or that you were a gossip? If you took an honest look at who you are...how you act...how you treat others...the things you think...and what you say...the things you talk about with your friends...would you like what you see? Would you feel good about the legacy you would leave behind?
If not, what can you change today? What do you think He would see in you that's displeasing? On the flip side, if you really think you are on the right track, let me encourage you to "stay the course". Be intentional in your walk with Christ...a good relationship with Him doesn't just happen. Stay focused. Do right. Dig into the Word. Get discipled. Seek out people who hold you accountable to do what is good and correct you in love and kindness.
I, personally, don't want to be someone who leaves nothing behind when my life is finished. More than anything I want to hear the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant" at the end of the time God has given me here on earth.
How about you?
