Last week, all five members of our family got a stomach bug. Joshua and Caleb got it first - within 30 minutes of each other. Then the next day, Jackson had his turn. Two days after Jackson, Daniel and I got it - both within an hour of each other. We were really sick, and when both parents are sick at the same time, it is really hard to manage 3 kids. Scariest part of the day for me was when I passed out....literally. I remember walking down the hallway headed to the bathroom. Daniel tells me that I called out to him and said "Daniel, I'm gonna pass ......." and as I started to say the word out, I began to fall. Even as he lay in the bed sick himself, he jumped up and caught me just before I hit the floor. The next thing I remember is Daniel telling me "I'm gonna sit you on the floor." After I sat there for a while, he helped me back in the bed, got me some diet coke (brought over to our house by Amy......thanks Amy!!) and then I began to feel much better.
I am thankful Daniel was home and was there to catch me. (Thanks Daniel!!) Also, I am very thankful that the boys were not home. Mrs. Fran Plunkett had taken them to the park for us so we could rest and not have to worry about them atleast for a couple of hours. She stepped in and helped at just the moment we really needed her. (So thanks Mrs Fran!!) Then that afternoon all 3 boys went to my neighbors house so we could have a few more hours to rest. She fed them dinner and brought them home that night just before they had to go to bed. (Thanks April!!) Living so far from family (8 hours), we feel extremely blessed to have friends in our lives that will step in and help at a moments notice. When is a time in your life where someone stepped in to help you?
