15/15 Challenge: Day 15
Prayer
You made it to day 15! Look back at what the Lord has done in your life through your time with him. Ask him to give you the strength to continue to spend time with him each day.
Don't forget to let him search your heart and show you and selfishness that might be a barrier in your communication with him. Ask him to speak to you through his Word today.
Scripture:
Remember that you can read this scripture in your own Bible and underline parts that speak directly to you. If you do that or write them in a journal, you will be able to go back to them in the days to come.
Philippians 1:3-11
3I thank my God every time I remember you. 4In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
7It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me. 8God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Observation:
Think about what this scripture means. You may want to journal anything that comes to mind.
What does this passage mean? What do you learn about God? What do you learn about yourself? What do you learn about your relationship to Jesus?
Application:
Again, you are welcome to journal anything that God puts on your heart. How does this passage apply to your life right now? How will what you have read transform how you live today?
Prayer:
Thank God for how he is moving in your life. Commi your day to him.

Now that I have finished the 15/15 Im starting to see my reoccurring problem. When I read the bible on a daily basis Im so unsure of what to read. Ive looked at bible reading plans but they all are so focused on completing the bible in a year or two, and thats not the point. I also dont have the time to read lengthy chapters a day and still get something out of it. Suggestions?

Madison,
Great question. You may feel like all those plans want you to just get through the whole bible because thats exactly why they are set up. See, we have a tendency to go to areas of the bible that we are comfortable with and just reread it over and over. Thats where these studies come in handy. BUT your question was what should I read. Well there are several options, specific to the person, but let me just give a few. 1) Stay in a book. If its a letter or narrative or historical it was meant to be read as a unit. Reading it through can give great context to the passage you're looking at today. 2) The books are themed out pretty easily so depending on what circumstances you are in or issues are around pick like that. Examples would be need to be encouraged to grow deeper? - Read Ephesians. Wisdom? -Read Proverbs. Want to understand more about Jesus' life? - Read a gospel.
Hope this helps. Thanks for the question.
