You should be getting the hang of how to open your time with the Lord. Reminder: Allowing God to search your heart for any unconfessed sin by taking time to listen and wait for him, confessing that sin to him and thanking him for his forgiveness, and asking him to give you wisdom to understand his Word. Do that now.
Scripture:
Remember that you can read this scripture in your own Bible and underline parts that speak directly to you. If you do that or write them in a journal, you will be able to go back to them in the days to come.
Psalm 100 (NIV)
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Observation:
Think about what this scripture means. You may want to journal anything that comes to mind.
Look back at the scripture. What are some action words that stick out to you?
What are some descriptive words that tell you more about who God is and what he is like?
What do you learn about yourself or how God views you?
Application:
Again, you are welcome to journal anything that God puts on your heart.
How does this passage apply to your life right now?
How will what you have read transform or change your thinking and how you live today?
Prayer:
Take some time to pray about what you have just read and what God has spoken to you. Close out your time with him by thanking him for who he is and what he has done. You may want to begin a list of characteristics of God that you are thankful for or things in your life that you are thankful for.Surrender your day to him and ask him to help you depend on him today.
