15/15 Challenge: Day 5

Opening Prayer:

How is has your time with God been so far? Take some time to pray and remember the things that he has shown you over the last several days. Are you beginning to see a difference in your day since spending time with him? Thank him for all he's spoken to you so far and ask him for the strength to continue the next 10 days.

Don't forget to spend time in prayer asking God to search your heart, laying your sins and burdens before him. Ask him to speak to you through his Word and transform you.

Scripture:

Remember that you can read this scripture in your own Bible and underline parts that speak directly to you. If you do that or write them in a journal, you will be able to go back to them in the days to come.

Philippians 2:3-11

3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Observation:

Think about what this scripture means. You may want to journal anything that comes to mind.

Look back at the scripture and identify the different persons it talks about.

What do you learn about Jesus? What do you learn about others? What do you learn about yourself?

What is humility?

Application:

Again, you are welcome to journal anything that God puts on your heart.

How does this passage apply to your life right now? How does your life line up with who Jesus is?

How will what you have read transform or change your thinking and how you live today?

Prayer:

Pray that your attitude will reflect that of Jesus. Pray that his love will transform you today. Commit your day to him.
