15/15 Challenge: Day 8

Opening Prayer:

Open your prayer time thanking God for who his is. Tell him outloud some of his characteristics that you are thankful for.

Don't forget to take some time to allow him to search your heart and show you any selfishness or wrong doing. Ask him to speak to you through his Word today.

Scripture:

Remember that you can read this scripture in your own Bible and underline parts that speak directly to you. If you do that or write them in a journal, you will be able to go back to them in the days to come.

Colossians 3:12-17 (NIV)

12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Observation:

Think about what this scripture means. You may want to journal anything that comes to mind.

Who is this text talking about? What do you learn about God? What do you learn about yourself? What do you learn about your relationship with God? Your relationship with others?

Application:

Again, you are welcome to journal anything that God puts on your heart.

How does this passage apply to your life right now?

How will what you have read change how you live today?

Prayer:

Is there anyone in your life that you have not forgiven? Ask God to reveal that to you. If there is someone, what is keeping you from forgiving them? God wants us to forgive each other as he has forgiven us. Ask God to give you the strength to let go of your bitterness towards that person.

Ask God's peace to rule in your heart today no matter what may come your way.

Commit your day to him.

Ugh I forgot to write day 8 too. I've done day 8, late at commenting it, but I've done it.
