Before we get started, we want you to know that its great you are taking this next step in your relationship to Jesus by committing to spend time with him daily. You will find that just 15 minutes of your day spent with him will make a huge impact on the rest of that day! We encourage you to grab a journal or notebook where you can write thoughts or prayers during your time with God. Also, don't forget to comment and let us know that you were here.

Opening Prayer:
Begin by taking a minute to pray and ask God to show you any unconfessed sin in your life. Pray something like this: "Search me, Lord, and show me anything in my heart that is disobedient to you." Sit for a second and let him reveal those to you.
As things come to mind, confess them to him and thank him for his forgiveness. Now ask the Lord to open your heart and mind to understand the scripture you are about to read. Pray something like this: "Lord, help me understand your Word as I read it, and use it to help me know you better and become more like you."
Scripture:
Read the scripture below. You may use your own Bible if you would like. Take your time and read it 2 or 3 times to let it sink in. If a verse speaks to you, underline it in your Bible or write it in your journal.
Psalm 119:9-11 (NIV)
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
Observation:
Think about what this scripture means. You may want to journal anything that comes to mind.
What do you learn about God and his character from this passage? What do you learn about his Word?
What do you learn about yourself or your relationship to God?
Application:
Again, you are welcome to journal anything that God puts on your heart.
How does this passage apply to your life right now?
How will what you have read transform or change your thinking and how you live today?
Prayer:
Respond to God with a prayer. You may want to journal this prayer. Talk to him about what he showed you through his Word today. Ask him to help you apply it to your life. Pray about anything else that may be on your heart.
End you your prayer time by asking him to help you make time for him and grow closer to him as you spend time with him daily. Commit your day to him.
